Community Jam with Rhiannon Giddens

Friday, June 13 at 6:00PM | O&W Grove Stage

Genres: Folk, Old-Time Music, Bluegrass

Join Rhiannon Giddens for an old-time jam!

“We will be learning everything on the fly and by ear,” Rhiannon says, “but I will give you an idea of some of the songs and keys we will be doing so if you want to get them in your ear ahead of time, you can! The focus will be on group rhythm and vibe; solo-ing is de-centered, and the feeling of trance and connection is what we will be going for. The selections will include well-known pieces so we can focus on feel.”

A2SF will select musicians for the community jam through an open call. Musicians must upload a video of themselves playing their instrument. A2SF will choose between 25-30 musicians to join the jam on Friday, June 13 at Top of the Park. All ages and levels welcome.

Called Biscuits & Banjos, the festival is an exploration and celebration of Black culture outside the mainstream.
