R&B artist Kenyatta Rashon, the Queen of Ypsi, brings her stunning voice back to A2SF this summer. Inspired by iconic vocalists like Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu, Janis Joplin, and Tina Turner, Rashon has shared her musical gifts from the boardwalks of Venice Beach to the subways of Harlem. She has been featured in the Michigan Chronicle, Current Magazine, and Concentrate Magazine and was a member of the inaugural class of Washtenaw’s Amplify Fellowship, an opportunity that helped further her career and brought her closer to the community. 2021 saw the release of The Art of Keeping It Real, a gorgeous contemporary R&B album with a lyrical emphasis on her thoughts on the ups and downs of relationships and life. Her latest endeavor includes the Michigan Made College Tour where she formed at universities across the state. Motivated by facing up to the realities of life all while following her dreams, Rashon’s exhilarating performance is sure to be stunning.
