A2SF welcomes back the eclectic, supercharged style of Ann Arbor’s own Jive Colossus! The 11-piece ensemble formed to celebrate community and the rich musical traditions of an increasingly interconnected world. Their danceable grooves explore elements of Afrobeat, funk, jazz, calypso, R&B, soul, reggae, and rock. Lead vocalist Mar Brisa’s fresh vocal stylings percolate over danceable grooves punctuated with colorful horn riffs. Driven by a three-piece horn section and percussion-heavy rhythm section, Jive Colossus activates the dance floor and takes audiences on a high-energy musical journey wherever they go.
