A2SF welcomes back the duo formerly known as Gemini! Formed by twin brothers San and Laz, the Ann Arbor-based group becomes Gemily when San’s daughter, a fine singer and virtuoso fiddler, joins the ensemble. Their recordings have won numerous awards, and their songs are featured in songbooks used by music teachers throughout the country. Their music is a celebration of childhood and family life, with a set list that includes rollicking sing-alongs, fun folktales, and traditional children’s songs from around the world. They bring the music to life with a stageful of instruments that includes guitar, mandolin, double fiddles, the pennywhistle, harmonica, and the “bones.” All of their songs have positive, life-affirming messages, with plenty of space for lots of audience participation. For this concert, Gemily will be joined by members of their Good Mischief Band, bringing even more livelihood to what’s sure to be a fun time for families galore!
