Anne Erlewine and the Ground

Tuesday, June 17 at 5:45PM | O&W Grove Stage

Genres: Folk, Americana, Singer-Songwriter

A2SF welcomes back Ann Arborite singer-songwriter Anne Erlewine and the graceful stylings of her contemporary folk, joined by guitarist and lap steel player Alex Anest and bassist Ozzie Andrews, both local culture jammers attuned to carving sonic balance with skill and sensitivity. Erlewine explores the most tender expressions of sound with the strum of her deceptively stark acoustic guitar and exquisite lyricism and a painterly tone, unsurprising given that she is also a visual artist. Her debut album Over the Bones was produced by acclaimed singer-songwriter Chris Bathgate and recorded at High Bias Recordings in Detroit, with the musical support of local artists. The resulting sound is pure neo-Americana, reflective and vulnerable in equal measure. Her meditative and emotionally resonant folk music is not to be missed at an A2SF stage this summer!
