Carter has been practicing yoga since 1995, classically trained in Ashtanga under master teacher Beryl Bender Birch. A former competitive athlete and feature documentary filmmaker, he brings a rare combination of physical intelligence and deep inquiry to everything he teaches.
His approach is simple: less about perfection, more about awareness. Carter gravitates toward sequences that feel fluid and intentional, where breath and movement work together to create clarity, strength, and presence.
He teaches weekly classes in Ann Arbor, welcoming students of every level and every body.
