The William L. Clements Library at the University of Michigan is a research library and paper archive that collects, preserves, and makes available historical and cultural resources about the history of North America and the Caribbean. Its holdings—maps, graphics, manuscripts, and books—are especially strong in 18th- and 19th-century American history.
