The vibrant global sound of AgawDilim will light up the stage at A2SF this summer! Named after the Tagalog words for “dusk falling” and Kurdish words for “awakened heart,” AgawDilim brings together Persian santoor (a type of hammered dulcimer) and jazz-influenced keys to create a colorful international musical style. Babak Soleimani fuses Iranian sounds with contemporary grooves while pianist Veena Kulkarni-Rankin provides blues-infused, classically-influenced keyboard work, with the rhythm section locked in to create a steady groove. With their versatility of style, AgawDilim bridges and brings together different cultures in southeast Michigan. Don’t miss their dynamic sonic mélange at Top of the Park!
